EHS Manager

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an EHS Manager within our Operations team to help support our Automotive business. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. As an EHS Manager, you will lead the implementation and administration of established health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and practices to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure, verify and improve EHS compliance with internal and external requirements including a system of regular audits; closely monitor new statutory regulations or requirements from Corporate.
• Initiate and conduct training activities to enhance EHS awareness and ensure correct reporting in Safeguard system.
• Ensure legal requirements are being followed and regular meetings are conducted with the appropriate team.
• Review and approve new equipment regarding EHS.
• Lead a safety-first approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensure and monitor work, accident prevention, and a safe working environment across the business.
• Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and/or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.

Qualifications:

• College Degree and professional designation in the area of Environment, Health & Safety.
• 3-5 years of proven related professional experience.
• Automotive experience is a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of local & Corporate regulations related to safety, health, and environment in order to develop, implement, and maintain measures of compliance.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills needed to analyze and interpret data trends.
• Very good presentation and training skills to conduct EHS training and to develop written procedures where required.
• Proficiency in MS Office programs.
