The Faculty of Sciences, the Solvay Business School of Management & Economics, and the Faculty of Architecture of the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) invite applications for a full-time academic position in Interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (AI) beginning October 1st, 2025. We seek a dynamic interdisciplinary AI teacher/researcher profile that combines a thorough understanding of fundamental AI topics with a multidisciplinary approach to teaching and research.
The position involves teaching (at the BA and MA level), research, and some commitment to administrative tasks. The teaching will include high-quality introductory courses to Artificial Intelligence in the Faculty of Architecture, Management & Economics, and Science, specifically focusing on students without a background in computer science. The research activity will be conducted mainly in the Computer Science Department, though interdisciplinary collaborations will be strongly encouraged: all research areas of AI will be considered, including generative AI, (deep) machine learning and big data science.

A temporary English teaching period shall be granted for candidates not fluent in French.
Qualifications Required:Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or related disciplines.
Skills Required:- Applicants should have at least 4 years of recent research experience (including Ph.D. research) at the time of their recruitment.
- Post-doctoral experience and a high-quality scientific record will be appreciated.
- Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration (possibly in science, management, economics and architecture), successful supervision of PhD and Master's students, potential for attracting substantial research funding, experience in managing and leading a research group, and significant research stays in foreign universities or research laboratories are assets.
- Exchange periods of any duration outside of the applicant's home institution (during or after their PhD) will be taken into consideration when evaluating applications.
- Applicants who do not speak French may be granted a period of adaptation, but they must be able to teach in French at the end of the third year following their appointment.

This template structures your application by including the following elements:
- an application letter (with the possibility of mentioning maternity leaves to be taken into account)
- a report (maximum 6 pages) presenting the applicant's research activities and a research project, including how these will develop into an activity at ULB. Include a section highlighting what you consider to be your best achievements.
- a teaching dossier including a report (maximum 4 pages) on the applicant's previous teaching activities and a teaching project for the first five years in this position; these must be relevant to the faculty and to the teaching profiles for the programmes to which the applicant is to contribute
- a statement about diversity and inclusion (past experiences or ideas for future initiatives),
- the names and e-mail addresses of five referees (respecting the gender balance) who may be contacted by those in charge of evaluating applications. These referees should not have conflicts of interest because of family or emotional ties.

The appointment to the academic staff of ULB is made at "Chargé de cours" level. As of their appointment, members of academic staff are authorised to use the honorary title of "Professeur".
