Finance Commercial and Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Commercial and Operations Manager to join our team in SL EMEA. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial and commercial support across both the commercial and network operations functions, ensuring optimal profitability and strategic success.

As part of SL EMEA, you will be supporting financial topics related to new business, contract renewals, customer profitability, and risk management. You will also provide financial expertise to the network operations team, helping drive cost efficiency and maintain competitive advantages. Your role will involve managing complex commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring strategic goals are met, and supporting Business Development teams to exceed financial targets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support all financial aspects of the commercial area, including new business, renewals pricing, customer profitability, in-country profitability, and risk & liability.
  2. Ensure all commercial risks and opportunities are thoroughly understood.
  3. Appraise proposals for new business, renewals, and capital expenditures, balancing reward and risk.
  4. Develop and maintain SL pricing tools to secure profitable business.
  5. Contribute to strategic planning and long-term goal setting.
  6. Support Business Development (BD) teams in delivering or exceeding budget targets.
  7. Support financial topics in network operations, focusing on costings and purchasing to achieve long-term competitive cost advantages.
  8. Understand and manage commercial and financial risks with service providers.
  9. Report and communicate operational savings and network profitability.
  10. Develop costing tools for consistency and best practice sharing.
  11. Advise on benchmarks and develop strategies with suppliers for best practice procurement.
  12. Support operations teams in delivering or exceeding budgets.
  13. Provide input on operations profit improvement plans, annual indexation, and KPI bonus/malus plans.
  14. Analyze and report on business performance, challenging stakeholders on the quality of business information and related action plans.
  15. Support the budget and QBR reviews, ensuring operational and commercial performance are in line with expectations.
Requirements
  1. Business or Finance degree (MBA or equivalent) or qualified accountant graduate caliber
  2. Minimum 5 years of working experience
  3. Proficiency in English at a fluent/professional level
  4. Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  5. Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience in both commercial and operations finance.
  6. Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  7. Ability to manage complex business models, identifying risks and opportunities.
  8. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  9. Experience in financial tools and cost management.
