Industrial Engineer

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER - BRUGES (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION The Industrial Engineer will play a key role in optimizing the manufacturing processes for industrial machinery, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production from initial design through final assembly and testing. This position focuses on analyzing and improving workflows, production layouts, labor utilization, and material flow to support both new and existing products. Working closely with manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and supply chain teams, the Industrial Engineer will support manufacturability, production scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a strong presence on the shop floor, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, repeatable manufacturing solutions that improve safety, productivity, and overall operational performance. Key Responsibilities Analyze and improve manufacturing processes for industrial machinery to increase efficiency, throughput, and cost-effectiveness Design, implement, and optimize production layouts, workflows, and material flows Develop standard work instructions, routings, time studies, and labor standards Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability and smooth production ramp-up Identify and eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) Collaborate with design engineering to provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback Monitor production performance metrics and recommend data-driven improvements Support capacity planning, line balancing, and equipment utilization Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, safety, and productivity issues Work closely with supply chain and procurement to improve material availability and inventory flow Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Preferably some experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving industrial machinery, heavy equipment, or complex assemblies Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing Proficiency in process analysis tools and manufacturing documentation Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills The Offer: A permanent, full-time employment contract A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience Please send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
