INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER - BRUGES (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONThe Industrial Engineer will play a key role in optimizing the manufacturing processes for industrial machinery, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production from initial design through final assembly and testing.This position focuses on analyzing and improving workflows, production layouts, labor utilization, and material flow to support both new and existing products.Working closely with manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and supply chain teams, the Industrial Engineer will support manufacturability, production scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives.The role requires a strong presence on the shop floor, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, repeatable manufacturing solutions that improve safety, productivity, and overall operational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and improve manufacturing processes for industrial machinery to increase efficiency, throughput, and cost-effectivenessDesign, implement, and optimize production layouts, workflows, and material flowsDevelop standard work instructions, routings, time studies, and labor standardsSupport new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability and smooth production ramp-upIdentify and eliminate waste using Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping)Collaborate with design engineering to provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedbackMonitor production performance metrics and recommend data-driven improvementsSupport capacity planning, line balancing, and equipment utilizationAssist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, safety, and productivity issuesWork closely with supply chain and procurement to improve material availability and inventory flowRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldPreferably some experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving industrial machinery, heavy equipment, or complex assembliesStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, assembly, and testingProficiency in process analysis tools and manufacturing documentationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsThe Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
