Vacature: Big Data Engineer (Freelance)Locatie: Vlaanderen (hybride)Beschikbaarheid: 2 dagen per week op locatie Context – Waar kom je terecht?Je komt terecht bij een overheidsorganisatie die dagelijks inzet op het beschermen, beheren en versterken van natuur en groen in Vlaanderen. Binnen deze organisatie speelt digitalisering een steeds grotere rol. Daarom bouwt het interne team “Digitalisering & Innovatie” aan moderne oplossingen die de werking slimmer, efficiënter en toekomstproof maken.Dit team werkt aan twee strategische programma’s die de digitale transformatie versnellen:Digitale Dienstverlening: optimaliseren van digitale interactie met burgers en partners.Smart Operations: inzetten op technologie zoals IoT, AI, drones, satellietbeelden en data-analyse om processen te automatiseren en te verbeteren.Als Big Data Engineer krijg je een centrale rol in de verdere uitbouw van het dataplatform, en ondersteun je AI-projecten die reële impact hebben op het terrein. Je werkt nauw samen met de Manager Innovatie & Data en een multidisciplinair team dat vooruit wil.Rol – Wat ga je doen?Als Big Data Engineer bouw je mee aan een moderne data-infrastructuur die data uit diverse bronnen: sensoren, drones, geografische datasets, real-time feeds omzet naar waardevolle inzichten en AI-toepassingen.Jouw takenpakket omvat onder andere:Ontwerpen en ontwikkelen van data pipelines en ETL-processen voor grootschalige, complexe datastromen.Ontwikkelen van performante data-analyse en modellering in Python en (Py)Spark.Samen met data scientists AI- en ML-modellen klaarzetten voor productie.Werken in een hybride omgeving (on premise + cloud) en bouwen van containerized oplossingen (Docker, Kubernetes).Schrijven van schaalbare, onderhoudbare en productieklare code.Inrichten van monitoring, logging en lineage met tools zoals Airflow, OpenLineage, Fluentd, Marquez en Collibra.Ondersteunen bij unit-, performantie- en systeemtesten.Opleveren van duidelijke technische documentatie en beheren van metadata.Profiel – Wie zoeken we?Je hebt aantoonbare ervaring als Data Engineer.Je hebt ervaring met verschillende databanken en complexe datamodellen.Je bent sterk in Python, Java of Scala voor het bouwen van datastromen en ETL-processen.Je hebt hands-on ervaring in het ontwerpen en implementeren van ETL/ELT-processen.Je spreekt en schrijft vloeiend Nederlands (CEFR C2).
