Job Description
As a Product Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of our regulatory reporting applications under minimal supervision, working in a distributed cross-functional Agile/Scrum development team.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and debug software applications according to project requirements and coding standards.
- Write and execute unit tests and participate in integration testing to ensure the reliability of software components.
- Identify and fix software defects (bugs) and work on maintenance tasks to improve the overall stability of existing applications.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, readability, and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to contribute to the software development life cycle.
- Implement new features and enhancements based on specifications provided by senior team members or product managers.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified during testing.
- Optimize code for performance and efficiency without sacrificing readability and maintainability.
- Analyze and understand project requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to estimating development efforts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Applied Informatics or a related field.
- 2+ years working experience as a Software Engineer with programming languages like VB, C/C++, Java and scripting languages like VB Script.
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and PL/SQL knowledge.
- Knowledge of XML / XBRL.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Experience with source control tools (preferably GIT).
- Experience with Jira, Team City, Maven and environment configuration will be a plus.
- Experience with data analysis, data processing, using AI on data will be a plus.
- Responsible, well organized and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Ability to integrate and work in a multicultural team and in a fast-paced development and delivery organization.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
