Data Quality Analyst

Location: Ghent Belgium Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Freelance Contract length: 2 years About the Role As a Data Quality Analyst, you will play a key role in the transition from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA within our logistics processes for cars, motorcycles, and power products. You will work closely with business stakeholders, the IT department, and the implementation partner to ensure data quality, build automated validation tools, and support the upskilling of our stakeholders by expanding their knowledge throughout the transformation. Main Responsibilities Conduct detailed root-cause analyses to identify the drivers of poor data quality across our application landscape Document findings and quantify the business impact of data quality issues and cleansing activities; collaborate closely with business stakeholders to derive concrete improvement actions Analyze relevant datasets to answer specific business questions or address operational challenges Perform data profiling on critical datasets to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and redundancies Develop tools to automate data quality checks within the transformation project Drive cross-functional alignment by working with Data Stewards, Business Owners, and IT leaders to establish a unified approach to data quality (rules, standards, KPIs) Create dashboards and reports to continuously monitor the health of our data assets Support business teams in improving data creation and maintenance processes to foster a proactive prevention mindset Capabilities Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate and interpret complex datasets Continuous improvement mindset: curious, persistent, and proactive in identifying opportunities to enhance data practices Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences Qualifications Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Business Engineering, or Data Science Solid understanding of data governance principles Proven professional experience (3+ years) as a Data Analyst Hands-on experience with SAP modules MM, SD, EWM Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI for creating dashboards and reports Experience with data science tools such as Python is a plus
