Job Title: Medior Buyer/Contract Manager Location: Brussels, Belgium. (Hybrid) Language: English, Dutch, French Duration: 15/12/2025-31/12/2026 Job description: Responsibilities: Manages fully autonomous procurement files from tender to award (sending, selection, negotiation, etc.) and therefore has a significant responsibility in the choice of contractor and the agreed contract terms. Demonstrates added value at a tactical and strategic level by developing and implementing a structured and (innovative) project purchasing strategy in accordance with existing purchasing policy Invests in a thorough understanding of the internal customer's needs, the current market dynamics and its challenges and opportunities, has an eye for innovation and, of course, knowledge of the technical content. Contributes to the product strategy and market analysis Contributes to supplier management and maintains positive long-term relationships with key contractors. Focuses on risks, threats, and opportunities. Manages improvement processes with contractors where necessary. Involved in the pre-competition phase for major projects. Also leads a number of MFTs (multifunctional teams) or working groups in the field aimed at creating impact or co-creating the future. Monitoring projects in progress (from a commercial and contractual perspective). This includes: monitoring and negotiating additional costs, ensuring Compliance with contractual terms (quality, schedule, safety, etc.). Site visits are essential for this purpose. Building bridges with suppliers to achieve our energy transition goals. This is done in close collaboration with the Supplier Manager. Coordination with counterpart at 50Hertz (Berlin, Germany) to share insights Sharing your market and category knowledge when negotiating contractual terms Additional requirements: You have a master's degree in a technical or commercial field or have a technical-economic background through experience. At least 3 years of relevant professional purchasing experience that can convince us through maturity, vision, and approach, and who is driven by a critical mindset, autonomy, and ambition. Since we at WORKS attach great importance to the 'match' within the team, this will also be a crucial factor. For this service, a regular presence on site and therefore making trips (Belgium) will be important.
