Welcome to the Acumen Public Affairs job application screening process for Trainees and Consultants in our different teams (Health, Comms, Sustainability, Tech).

The HATS on-line questionnaire that follows is divided into two parts and should take you 30-60 minutes to complete. Please note that - for consistency reasons – it is essential that you fill the questionnaire in without interruption and while giving it your full attention.
PART 1: You will be requested to answer questions about your qualifications, skills, work experience, and to upload your resume, as well as a tailored cover letter (1-page max.). Applications without tailored cover letters will NOT be taken into account. You will also be requested to summarize why you believe you should be considered as a candidate for this position in 500 characters maximum.
Duration: 10-15 minutes.
PART 2: This part of the questionnaire will be used to help us better understand your work style and preferences. The questions asked are NOT necessarily job requirements and there are no right nor wrong answers.
Duration: 30-45 minutes.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of (Trainee) Consultant includes:
- Daily monitoring of various issues (legislative and non-legislative).
- Conducting background research.
- Drafting newsletters and policy briefings.
- Providing overall support to more senior staff members.
- Working on a variety of topics and assignments.
- Getting client exposure.

Minimum Requirements:
- EU national or work permit holder as the position is in Brussels, Belgium.
- Previous experience in one of the sectors we specialize in (health, agri-food, energy-environment, mobility, tech...).
- Perfect command of English; additional language skills an asset.
- Strong planning skills.
- Advanced research and writing skills, including the ability to summarise issues quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work in a team, whilst at the same time carrying out own tasks independently and to agreed deadlines.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, ability to work under tight deadlines in an international environment.
- Proficient with IT and new media tools.
Desirable:
- Previous experience/traineeship in one of the European Institutions.
- Good, demonstrated command of social media – experience in organising social media campaigns.
