Duration: Initial 12 months with extension potential
The Client is developing advanced robotic systems that combine intelligent software, autonomy, perception, and industrial automation. We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the development of scalable robotic software platforms and mission-critical applications.
Role Overview
You will work closely with robotics, controls and product teams to design, develop and maintain software components that power next-generation robotic solutions. This is a hands-on engineering position suited to a contractor who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop robust software applications in C++ and/or Python.
- Design and implement APIs, backend services and system integrations.
- Collaborate with robotics, controls and embedded teams.
- Support testing, debugging and performance optimisation.
- Contribute to software architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Develop automated tests and CI/CD processes.
- Participate in agile planning and sprint activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with Python and/or C++.
- Experience with Git, Linux and modern development practices.
- Knowledge of software architecture, REST APIs and distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred Experience
- Robotics, automation or autonomous systems.
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- Computer vision, AI or machine learning exposure.
