As a Customer Service Representative with Customs Expertise, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and handling customs-related inquiries. You will serve as a point of contact for customers, supporting them with customs procedures, regulations, and documentation. You will work closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth customs processing of all shipments.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat regarding customs matters and related services.
- Prepare customs documents and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist customers in submitting customs declarations and provide information on the status of their shipments.
- Coordinate the handling of customs formalities, such as processing import and export documents.
- Identify potential customs risks and advise customers on how to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with customs offices, carriers, and other external partners to ensure the smooth flow of goods.
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during customs inspections.
- Keep track of changes in customs legislation and ensure that customers are informed in a timely manner.
- Proactively contribute to process improvements and the efficiency of customs handling.
- Minimum of MBO+ level of education or equivalent.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in logistics or customs.
- In-depth knowledge of customs laws and procedures.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English (additional languages are a plus).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Customer-oriented and service-focused attitude.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office and preferably experience with customs software.
