BENEO, member of the Südzucker Group, is a global market leader in functional food ingredients for humans and animals with production sites in Belgium, Germany, Chile and Italy. BENEO markets their ingredients in over 75 countries. For the site in Wijgmaal (B) we are looking for a:
Product Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Support in defining the product strategy and roadmap, with a focus on optimization and further development of the ingredients for different type of applications.
- Analyze market research results, execute analysis of market and category attractiveness and follow up on customer needs, competitor info, trends and new developments.
- Provide expertise and product related updates to sales to support commercial activities. This includes setting up the right sales pitch based on success stories, understand the strengths and weaknesses of the portfolio and translate these into a compelling selling story.
- Give technical information and give presentations to customers, answer technical questions, and discuss new opportunities from the technical side with sales colleagues.
- Ensure all technical documentation of a specific product range is available and up-to-date.
- Develop business plan for new products, to convey the internal stakeholders of the relevance and profitability of that product/category.
- Represent the products at fairs, conferences and selected customer meetings. Participate in relevant events and translate gathered insights into useful business actions.
- Report to the Portfolio Manager Rice Ingredients.
Key Qualifications
- Master's degree in bioengineering, food technology, biochemistry, Business, Marketing or several years of experience in a similar position (preferably in the field of ingredients/food production)
- Strong customer/commercial orientation
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- You are able to travel about 10-15% of your time
