Het Leuvens Instituut voor Gezondheidszorgbeleid (LIGB) van de KU Leuven werd in oktober 2015 opgestart. Het is een onderdeel van de faculteit geneeskunde en het departement maatschappelijke gezondheidszorg en eerstelijnszorg. Het instituut zorgt voor de integratie van de expertise rond management en beleid van de gezondheidszorg. Het LIGB bestaat uit verschillende Pijlers: Kwaliteit en Patiëntveiligheid, Financiering, Economie en Organisatie. Binnen deze pijlers vinden verschillende projecten in nauwe samenwerking met zorgorganisaties plaats. Een multidisciplinair team ondersteunt deze projecten met onderzoek en vormingsinitiatieven.

De Pijler Organisatie gaat in samenwerking met de Pijler Kwaliteit en Patiëntveiligheid een onderzoek opzetten over de inzet van schaarse middelen in de gezondheidszorg. In dit onderzoek wordt met behulp van casestudies nagegaan hoe de organisatie en financiering van zorg kunnen inspelen op een toenemende schaarste (bv. personeelstekorten en stijgende uitgaven) in de zorg. De casestudies omvatten onder andere trends en veranderingen in financiering van ziekenhuiskwaliteit (P4P), medische technologie en personeelsschaarste. Het uitwerken van een, hoofdzakelijk, kwantitatieve methodologie om dit onderwerp te bestuderen alsook beleidsaanbevelingen formuleren over de organisatie van gezondheidszorg zijn centrale aspecten van het doctoraatstraject.

Functieomschrijving
  • Een voltijds mandaat als doctoraatsonderzoeker aan de KU Leuven (Departement Maatschappelijke Gezondheidszorg en Eerstelijnszorg). Het onderzoek zal plaatsvinden vanuit het LIGB KU Leuven en betrekking hebben op ‘scarcity in healthcare’.
  • Als onderzoeker ben je betrokken bij het uitwerken van een methodologie om dit onderwerp te bestuderen. Hierbij gaat het zowel over het uitwerken van een design alsook identificeren welke betrouwbare data gebruikt kunnen worden. De resultaten uit het onderzoek dienen nadien omgezet te worden in beleidsaanbevelingen voor verschillende stakeholders.
  • Wij bieden een voltijdse tewerkstelling van bepaalde duur voor 1 jaar, hernieuwbaar tot max. 4 jaar. Het is de bedoeling dat het onderzoek na 4 jaar resulteert in een doctoraat. Je volgt daartoe ook de doctoraatsopleiding waarbij je begeleid wordt door prof. dr. Raf Van Gestel, prof. dr. Kris Vanhaecht en prof. dr. Dirk De Ridder.
  • Je bent in het bezit van een masterdiploma, bij voorkeur in de gezondheidszorg of economie. In het bezit zijn van een Master in Management & Beleid van de Gezondheidszorg is een pluspunt.
  • Je bent geïnteresseerd in wetenschappelijk onderzoek en gemotiveerd om een doctoraat aan te vatten. Je hebt daarvoor reeds een goed studiecurriculum opgebouwd. Je werkt graag samen met een team van onderzoekers en hebt affiniteit met de gezondheidszorg.
  • Je neemt graag initiatief, je hebt een hoge maat van verantwoordelijkheidszin, je bent een teamplayer, hebt didactische skills, kan zelfstandig werken en je aanvaardt opbouwende kritiek.
  • Je bent flexibel en kan participeren aan avondvergaderingen.
