Head of Automation

Overview Head of Automation at TopCompare.be is a role for a process-obsessed automation specialist who will design, automate, and continuously improve how work flows across teams to scale smarter and reduce manual work. You will be the architect of the operational backbone, shaping workflows from customer onboarding to internal reporting. Responsibilities Lead the Automation Charge. Map, challenge, and redesign cross‑functional processes (from acquisition to customer care and partner ops). Build and own an automation roadmap using RPA, low/no‑code tools (Zapier/Make/...), APIs, AI copilots, and scripts. Proficiency in coding is not required. Prioritize ruthlessly: quick wins first, moonshots second, backed by data and ROI. Turn chaos into clarity: create and maintain clear SOPs, swimlanes, and control plans. Drive Continuous Improvement; Lean is the guiding principle. Facilitate Kaizen workshops, value-stream mapping, and DMAIC cycles to reach root causes quickly. Install metrics and control charts to sustain improvements (beyond a single project). Coach teams to identify and eliminate wastes with automation. Orchestrate Change: craft business cases and win buy‑in across Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Compliance. Pilot, test, iterate, and roll out improvements with clear communications. Train end users, build playbooks, measure adoption, and iterate again. Ensure data flows between tools and collaborate with Data/IT for reliable data movement. Co‑own key ops platforms (workflow engines, CRM/ERP modules, ticketing, RPA bots) with focus on reliability and scalability. Spin up dashboards to expose bottlenecks, SLAs, and throughput in real time. What you bring Must-haves A structured problem-solver with a bias for action; we value action over lengthy proposals and documentation. 3 to 7 years in Operations, Business Process Management, or similar roles in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on track record of automating and scaling processes across multiple teams. Proven mastery of workflow/automation tools (Zapier/Make, UiPath, Power Automate, Workato, etc.) and/or scripting (Python, Apps Script). Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into action. Bonus points Lean Six Sigma training/certifications (Yellow/Green/Black Belt). Experience in fintech/financial services or other regulated industries. Familiarity with AI/LLM-enabled automation and prompt engineering. Who you are as a person You think in systems.
