Job Description
The Engineer (Engineering) works independently and technically leads a team or track to design new and cost-effective domain architecture, applications and/or solutions or to optimize the current solutions within his/her domain. The Engineer (Engineering) also takes part in defining the strategy for the assigned technological domains.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Continuously researches new technological trends and evolutions and designs, develops and calculates sustainable, high-quality and cost-effective products, services, infrastructure, applications and/or architecture within the assigned technical domain(s). Introduces new technologies and services, analyzes and translates the business requirements into technical guidelines and technology roadmaps.
- Delivers solutions according to a defined budget and/or cost effectiveness principle and makes short and long budget forecasts with adequate reporting. Monitors/evaluates or adjusts current and future business needs so that solutions according to their requirements can be implemented.
- Acts as a specialist in one or more technical areas. In this specialist role, acts as go-to person and/or coaches/trains the other departments (internal and external) in case of specialized requests or questions and/or defining, designing, calculating new and current services. Creates and provides the needed documentation.
- Defines and/or executes and/or documents and/or coordinates the acceptance- and regression tests when new and existing products, services, applications or infrastructure are enrolled.
- Vendor management: selects, evaluates, collaborates and negotiates with vendors by using Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), in order to acquire best-price quality for materials, products and services. Monitors the supply/replenishment/price of required materials or licenses and manages the product cycle.
- Keeps focus on capacity management by defining, implementing and following-up on KPIs, performance, capacity, functionality and sustainability of the relevant service components (including hardware, software and network).
- Present broad experience within various technical domains.
- Experience in coordinating projects & defining the project plan and approach.
- Present knowledge in different systems, processes, applications and current projects.
- Ascertains links between the different technologies and broader business, legal and/or regulatory context.
- Investigates systems and projects with an analytical and abstract mindset.
- Coaches peers and transfers knowledge.
- Helps defining the strategy & roadmaps for the specific business area.
- Able to continuously question yourself and the approaches to keep improving the services and solutions.
- Budgeting principles acumen to identify the financial impact(s) of the selected solution.
- Analyzes and creates/designs solutions in the expertise domain.
- Realizes new projects.
- Supports decision-making about strategy based on budgetary impact, continuity and resources.
- Assures stakeholders with an appropriate solution that meets their requirements as well as being accountable for the suggested solution.
- Guards a holistic view to analyze the bigger picture and adjust decisions and solutions.
- Defines the needs and places/interprets them correctly in the context.
- Evaluates a variety of technologies and options.
- Decision-making based on market assessment or experiences (positive, negative) from the past.
- Supports complex projects and is able to translate these complex matters to non-technical stakeholders.
- Is responsible for the innovation initiatives.
- Is End-to-End responsible for the design, quality and the whole coordination of the project.
- Is responsible for the correct budget management during the project process.
- Acts as Single Point of Contact for various projects and technologies.
- Convinces stakeholders of certain technologies, processes, projects and innovations.
- Master (Engineering) with at least 5-7 years relevant experience.
