General Description: We are looking for a strong Network Engineer specialized in firewall management both on Palo Alto and Checkpoint. The purpose is to increase the knowledge in our division and have a backup for the technical owner. The candidate will help in operating and maintaining the product and will participate in the improvement of related processes to meet security and regulatory requirements and controls. About the Role: The Network Engineer will contribute to a team responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of the Network and project delivery. The focus will be on design, implementation and support of the Business and IT Applications. The candidate will assist in setup and maintenance of production network infrastructure, he will also contribute to the configuration of our Network devices. In addition, there will be a specific focus on the Security review of our environment: Firewall management and firewall rules review, implementation and cleanup; DNS services implementation and support;, HLB and GSLB services implementation and support; A transition to Software Defined network is ongoing and therefore the global security review will have to integrate this new parameter. This position requires a broad knowledge of Network Security systems (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Panorama...), Software Defined Network (CISCO ACI technology, EPG, ...), DNS and GSLB ( Infoblox ), HLB ( F5 Networks). It involves analytical skills and troubleshooting capability to work with the team members to quickly diagnose and resolve network issues.. Responsibilities: Network Architecture & Design: Supporting the architecture, design, and implementation of cloud network infrastructures, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. Managing and maintaining network devices, optimizing configurations, and troubleshooting network issues to ensure seamless operations. Security Protocols: Implementing thorough security protocols such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Networking (VPN), and encryption techniques. Ensuring compliance with industry standards. Performance Optimization: Continuously monitoring and fine-tuning network performance across cloud infrastructures to ensure optimal functionality and reduce latency. Using tools like AWS CloudWatch or Azure Monitor to gain insights into network traffic, bottlenecks, and resource utilization. Cost Management: supports implementation of cost management strategies to optimize resource usage and reduce expenses. Review, implement and enhance our network Security environment. Assist with maintaining current documentation of related corporate network implementation. Involvement in troubleshoot network security systems. Provide network project support to other teams with the implementation of enterprise and operational service upgrades and new initiatives. Be involved in Infrastructure and Business projects by delivering the required infrastructure (and related documentation). Perform vulnerability assessment, validation & upgrade on the Network Security Systems. Maintain process like Configuration Management and Monitoring of the infrastructure. Optimize our current network implementation and introduce automation services in our environment Integrate Watch-Duty role and support Week-End interventions. Skills Required: Degree in Computer Science or Certifications in Network Technologies, Information Systems, or other related disciplines (preferred). 5 to 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience in Network Security Management Systems Palo Alto, Checkpoint, ... (5 - 10 years) Experience with the Prisma Access, Prisma Access for user, ... technology Good knowledge with routing and switching technology (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, VRF, MPLS, GRE, IPSEC,...) Excellent understanding TCP/IP protocols and related DNS (Infoblox), QoS AWS Microsoft Azure Knowledge of Infoblox, F5, CISCO ISE technologies. Experience in SDN / Cisco ACI / EPG management is a real asset. Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment. Ability to develop in Python for network automation needs. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Fluent in English (French and/or Dutch is a plus) Soft Skills: Rigor and precision required. Business analyst/analytical mindset to help in understanding stakeholder requirements and in incident/problem-solving situations. Process and risk-minded. Client-oriented. Eager to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly. Flexible and able to deal with fast-changing environments. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced team environment. Fluent in English; based on the working environment, French knowledge is a plus. This position requires an individual with good communication (both verbal and written), organizational, and analytical / problem-solving skills. The individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform tasks with a high degree of quality, while following existing processes and operational procedures. Additionally, the position requires the ability to work with members of other teams and staff to meet all necessary department(s) and organizational goals. Leadership and self-organization to drive solution implementation (in agreement with the reporting line). Team player.
