Customs Clearance Manager-Liege

Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to establish and enhance the company's customs clearance capability.
- Oversee the customs clearance process for all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with local customs regulations and requirements.
- Manage customs clearance documentation and procedures, including tariff classifications, valuation, and duty calculations.
- Liaise with customs authorities, customs agents, and other relevant parties to resolve customs-related issues and ensure timely clearance of goods.
- Stay informed about changes in customs regulations, tax laws, and rules, and update internal processes and procedures accordingly.
- Train and educate staff on customs clearance processes and requirements.
- Analyze customs clearance data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize processes.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of customs clearance activities.
- Completed degree in business administration, customs or similar.
- Relevant professional experience (customs, trade compliance and logistics).
- In-depth knowledge of foreign trade / customs law (regulations of the preferential origin of goods, import, export, export control and sanction list screening).
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as a high level of initiative and creative drive.
- Project management, coordination and participation in international (project) teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in French, English and Chinese would be a plus.
