Senior Functional Consultant / Project Lead Odoo – Public Sector Project – Freelance Start date: ASAP Duration: 10 months (renewable) Location: Brussels Work mode: Hybrid (3 to 5 days/week on-site) About the Mission A major public-sector organization is launching a large-scale digital transformation to modernize its real estate and asset-management processes using Odoo v18. As the Senior Functional Consultant / Project Lead, you will own the functional analysis, end-to-end design, module configuration, and delivery of the new Odoo platform. You will collaborate with stakeholders across operational, geographic information, commercial, and IT teams to translate their needs into scalable and coherent Odoo workflows. This mission suits an experienced Odoo functional expert with strong leadership skills who wants to drive a high-impact transformation within a structured public institution. Your Responsibilities 1. Lead Business Process Analysis & Design Review and refine existing "As-Is / To-Be" documentation. Organize and lead workshops with business teams (operations, GIS, commercial, IT). Translate operational processes into Odoo v18 functional flows. Identify improvement opportunities and propose optimized solutions. 2. Configure & Orchestrate Odoo Modules Lead the functional setup of: Real estate or asset lifecycle processes Prospection and onboarding workflows Data model structuring and property sheets Status transitions and automated notifications External website publication (API-based) Integrations with mapping tools (e.g., mainstream global map providers)3. Coordinate Customizations (Without Being the Developer) Define functional specifications for possible custom developments. Collaborate with developers to ensure alignment with requirements or explore standard alternatives. Oversee API integrations with external systems. Validate UX, UI, and dashboard deliverables. 4. Drive the Data Migration Strategy Define migration rules, mapping, and validation criteria. Coordinate migration activities from the legacy real estate database. Ensure the reliability and coherence of migrated data. 5. Implement Automated Workflows & Cross-Module Logic Structure approval flows, validation rules, triggers, and notifications. Ensure seamless cross-module interactions across teams. 6. Guarantee High-Quality Delivery Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Prepare documentation, training materials, and handover sessions. Support adoption and align expectations. Serve as the functional point of contact for the client. Required Skills & Experience Functional Expertise Strong mastery of Odoo v18 configuration and module interactions. End-to-end workflow design experience. Experience in real estate, asset management, or complex operational lifecycles is a plus. Comfortable working in structured public-sector environments. Technical Literacy (Functional Focus) Ability to design functional specs for custom code and integrations. Understanding of REST APIs and web publishing flows. Awareness of Odoo data models, XML views, and workflows. Odoo development experience is a plus (not mandatory). GIS & External Integrations Experience with common mapping or geolocation tools. Experience integrating Odoo with external websites via API. Languages Native or bilingual proficiency in one major Western European language (FR/NL/Other).
