Role Overview
We are seeking an Expert in Information & Document Management to support the development and implementation of records, archives, and content management systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in digital preservation, metadata management, and system integration, contributing to long-term strategies for document security, encryption, and regulatory compliance.

  • Location: Near-site (must be able to reach Brussels within 2 hours by land)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Long-term assignment
  • Languages: Fluent in English & French
  • Minimum Seniority:
    • Bachelor's degree + 7 years of experience OR
    • Master's degree + 3 years of experience
    Key Responsibilities
    • Policy & Strategy Development:
      • Define content, records, and archives management policies aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks.
      • Develop and implement digital preservation and retention strategies.
    • System Design & Integration:
      • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of records and information management systems.
      • Define functional and technical specifications for content, records, and archives management.
      • Develop integration and data migration strategies for legacy repositories.
    • Digital Preservation & Data Security:
      • Ensure secure document management with encryption, digital signatures, and confidentiality measures.
      • Implement metadata standards and archival description best practices.
    • Open Data & Semantic Web Technologies:
      • Develop data publication and exchange solutions using linked open data and semantic web technologies.
    • Training & Support:
      • Provide application support and user training for document management systems.
      • Organize and lead training sessions on best practices in information and records management.
      Required Skills & Experience
      • Minimum 3 years of experience in:
        • IT systems for document management.
        • Application support for document and records management solutions.
        • Organizing and delivering training in information management.
      • Expertise in:
        • Standards and best practices for records, archives, and digital preservation.
        • Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms and long-term digital preservation solutions.
        • Ontology design, metadata management, full-text search, and semantic web technologies.
      • Technical Knowledge:
        • Familiarity with web services, enterprise integration patterns, cloud platforms, and database management systems (preferred).
        • Agile methodologies and project participation experience.
      • Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory):
        • ITIL Foundation certification.
