The Role:

This is what we'll expect you to work on. Your primary ownership areas will be:

  • Increasing the average engagement rate of video content.
  • Increasing # videos published per week (iterations included).
  • Increasing the CTR (clickthrough) and CVR (conversion) of video ads/content.
What You'll Work On:
  • Edit and produce educational content and ads with high weekly output levels.
  • Work within our Descript account, leveraging pre-set branded layouts to ensure consistency and productivity.
  • Update, refine, and occasionally create new layout standards to maintain a consistent brand presence across all videos.
Video Editing & Asset Integration:
  • Edit various types of content, including:
  • Footage of the founder, Damien.
  • Charts sourced from our knowledge base or created using Google Sheets.
  • Other branded visuals that align with our content guidelines.
  • Adjust assets and charts as needed to match our brand style and video format.
Video Performance Optimization:
  • Use video analytics to understand engagement metrics, including viewer fall-off rates and engagement rates.
  • Implement creative and data-driven strategies to improve engagement, increase average viewing time, and enhance video effectiveness.
  • Optimize videos for specific outcomes, such as ad conversions or responses to call-to-actions.
Team Collaboration & Workflow Integration:
  • Organize and plan your weekly work in a Monday meeting with Damien.
  • Attend check-ins on Wednesdays or Fridays as needed to resolve issues and meet project goals.
  • Collaborate flexibly, working outside scheduled meetings according to your own productive rhythm.
The Future of This Role:

We're looking for someone who sees the potential for video to play a central role in our business. This is where the role will lead to for the right person:

  • The role starts as part-time and will expand to full-time based on your demonstrated competence and output.
  • Video content will play a larger role across multiple areas, including post-purchase funnels, education, mobile apps, and advertising.
  • You'll have the opportunity to work with and integrate emerging AI tools for video and image generation to enhance video content production and impact.
  • You'll play a key role in refining video engagement strategies through continuous testing, analytics, and creative innovation to optimize audience engagement and conversion.
Ideal Profile:

Your Background:

Work Experience:
  • You should have at least internship experience in a similar activity, up to 2 years of experience. This should include:
  • Experience with video editing and production with Descript.
  • Experience with using video analytics to improve video engagement and response.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from an accredited institution.
For this role we are looking for exceptional strengths in:
  • Proven experience with video editing software, specifically Descript, including working with video layouts and templates to enhance productivity and standardisation to brand guidelines.
  • Ability to create and enhance branded video layouts.
  • Eye for visuals, ensuring all videos adhere to brand style guidelines.
  • Understanding of video engagement metrics and ability to optimize videos to maximize viewer retention, conversions, and response to call-to-actions.
  • Experience using analytics to guide creative decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple video projects weekly.
  • Focus on maintaining high productivity while producing quality video content.
  • Ability to create or refine charts using Google Sheets and integrate them into videos.
  • Comfort working within tech-driven workflows, including use of AI tools for video and image generation (or a strong drive and willingness to learn).
  • Your English must be flawless as this will be the main working language. Other advantageous languages include German, Spanish, Italian, and French.
  • You should have exceptionally high standards for your work and that of others and the attention to detail to be able to spot areas to improve.
  • You should be very comfortable with tech - we are a company that leverages the best tech and latest systems - so understanding and using these is part of virtually all your activity.
  • You should have an aptitude for leveraging and adding to existing internal systems, procedures, knowledge and workflows.
  • You should have excellent proactive self-organisation and know how to manage and prioritise a task list.
  • You are a keen and enthusiastic self-driven learner. You are constantly learning, love the journey and progress you make from this.
  • You are a self-starter, proactive and able to take initiative to overcome obstacles you come across in your tasks.
