Job Title: Senior Python Developer – Automation Tool Duration: Initial 6 months contract Workload: Full-time hours Setup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader) Location: Brussels (Monnoyer) – Onsite 2 days/week We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to industrialise and optimise a full-Python automation tool, leveraging existing scripts and requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a modular, scalable Python-based tool for industrial applications. Optimise scripts for performance and efficiency to handle large datasets. Document code and ensure adaptability for evolving requirements. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate solutions into power systems workflows. Must-Have Skills: 6+ years of experience with Python-driven industrial software. Strong Python programming expertise (minimum 3 years hands-on). Background in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences. Excellent English communication; basic French and/or Dutch. Proven ability in profiling, optimisation, and modular programming. Knowledge of electricity or electric power systems (grid structure, load flow, generation/consumption localisation). Nice-to-Have: Experience with large-scale data processing. Familiarity with European energy systems. Important: Non-EU candidates must hold a valid Belgian work permit and residence permit.
