Location: Brussels Contract: Permanent or Freelance Client: International group – major player in the energy sector Description Within the WattsOn Processes team, the consultant will actively contribute to the development of the information system for the DownStream department. This department supports the risk management teams responsible for gas and electricity sales, risk hedging, and the monitoring of the profit and loss related to energy supply contracts. The consultant will work directly with the Product Owner, business analysts, and various developers and business users in order to fully understand the economic model. They will participate in needs analysis, solution design and development, as well as support and corrective/evolutive maintenance. The upcoming projects include the development and maintenance of modules for contract and transaction management, meter readings, forecasts, pricing, commercial data flows, profit and loss reporting, and risk management. All activities will be carried out with a strong focus on quality to ensure the delivery of a stable, secure, scalable, and high-performance platform. Main Responsibilities Develop and maintain scalable APIs and microservices using Python , Dapper, Flask, and FastAPI Design and optimize database solutions using SQL Server, Postgres, and AWS Design and enhance web applications using React, TypeScript, RSuite, HTML, and CSS Apply SOLID principles and design patterns to ensure clean and maintainable code Use Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) to deploy and scale services Handle and process large datasets with Python, Pandas, and NumPy Implement cloud solutions with Azure and AWS S3 for data storage and processing Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data flows and management Optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues across all layers of the technology stack Required Skills 6 to 9 years of experience in Python development Strong expertise in Python, Pandas, FastAPI, Dash Backend Python, Flask, FastAPI Microservices, API development Frontend React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS Data & Databases Postgres, AWS Athena Cloud & DevOps Azure, AWS S3 Docker, Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD Data Processing Python, Pandas, NumPy Who Are We?
