We are working with a leading Belgian utilities organisation undertaking a strategic replacement of its SAP IS-U platform as part of a large-scale transformation programme.They require a Senior SAP IS-U Functional / Business Analyst to join them on a long-term contract engagement.This role will focus on analysing, rationalising, and redefining Belgian SAP IS-U processes so they can be migrated into a new non-SAP utilities platform (Calusa), operating at a strategic transformation level rather than BAU or system support.Key Responsibilities:• Analyse and deeply understand existing Belgian SAP IS-U processes across billing, metering, MDM, and volume calculation • Challenge and strip back legacy customisations to reduce complexity in the future-state design • Redefine core “to-be” business processes independently of SAP constraints • Translate SAP IS-U realities into clear, future-proof functional requirements for the new platform • Work in close co-creation with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and transformation leads • Ensure critical regulatory and market-specific requirements are preserved during platform replacement • Drive functional analysis independently with high autonomy and minimal supervision • Act as a key advisor on Belgian utilities domain logic to mitigate migration and delivery riskRequired Skills & Qualifications:• Very strong SAP IS-U functional expertise, with deep knowledge of Belgian utilities processes • Proven experience working within the Belgian utilities market • Background in early-phase transformation or platform replacement programmes • Strategic mindset - not BAU, not support, not configuration-focused • Strong ability to challenge long-standing legacy processes constructively • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and shaping requirements from first principles • Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills • Fluent in English; French and/or Dutch are a strong plus • No S/4HANA experience requiredContract Details:• Duration: Initial 12 months (programme runs 2–3 years) • Location: Brussels • Onsite: 2 days per week mandatory (initial phase) • Start Date: ASAP (early–mid February acceptable) • Engagement: FreelanceThis is a rare SAP IS-U transformation role offering high autonomy, strong visibility, and direct impact on a national utilities platform replacement - with clear funding, urgency, and long-term international rollout potential.
