Head of Translational Medicine | Cell & Gene Therapy Location: On-Site Opportunity This is a rare leadership opening with a high-growth biotechnology innovator at a pivotal stage of development. Following a successful funding round, the company is rapidly scaling its proprietary bioengineered stem cell exosome platform to deliver first-in-class regenerative gene therapies. We are seeking a Head of Translational Medicine who is a high-autonomy problem solver. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between innovative platform research and clinical-ready assets, moving lead programs in ARDS and Lung Cancer toward the clinic. The Role This is a leadership position. You will oversee a talented R&D team that includes multiple Senior Scientists, providing the strategic and technical oversight necessary to advance a complex pipeline. This role requires a professional who is equally comfortable managing a large team as they are diving into the technical details of a regulatory dossier. The Ideal Candidate Core Requirements (Must Have) Education: PhD in Molecular/Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related Life Sciences. Sector Experience: Over 5 years in Biotech/Pharma, specifically within Cell & Gene Therapy or Nanoparticle delivery systems. Leadership: Proven track record managing and mentoring R&D teams of at least 15–20 people. Regulatory Weight: Significant experience leading IND/CTA/IMPD submissions and drafting technical dossiers. Technical & Strategic Mastery Platform Innovation: Deep expertise in gene/miRNA manipulation, transfection, and EV/Exosome isolation and engineering. CMC & Scale-Up: Ability to translate lab protocols into scalable, CMC-ready manufacturing and manage tech transfer to CDMOs. Process Development: Expertise in upstream/downstream workflows, purification, and formulation optimization. Analytical Rigor: Hands-on experience developing robust assays for potency, purity, and stability (NTA, qPCR, Flow Cytometry). Translational Strategy: Strategic understanding of the ATMP regulatory landscape and bridging R&D to clinical application.
