Job title: Data Engineer serviceLocation: Brussels, Belgium Duration: 1/02/2026-31/12/2026Languages: French or Dutch JOB DESCRIPTION:We are looking for a data engineer to work within a digital and analytics hub, with the aim of contributing to data and digitalization initiatives to ensure high-quality data, develop digital tools, and thus enable the energy transition.In this role, you'll have the opportunity to further expand your expertise in data engineering and digitalization, while also bridging the gap between IT and business. You'll work in a cross-functional environment, directly impacting operational and strategic decisions.Providing integrated data from different sources/systems with respect for the approach determined in the data strategy;Setting up short-term (connections between databases via R, ...) and long-term solutions;Analyze data, visualize it and communicate insights clearly to various stakeholders;Perform advanced analyses (e.g. trends, benchmarks, performance monitoring);Assessing and improving data quality;Actively contribute to digitalization projects and building data products;Propose and develop digital solutions (coding) based on business needs;Identify opportunities and risks in data processes and propose optimizations;Translating business questions into data-driven solutions;Work closely with colleagues from other teams and domains.Additional requirements:You have a Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience;You have at least 10 years of experience in data management, data analysis, AI and software development;You are analytical, structured and enjoy working independently and in a team;You communicate fluently with both technical and business stakeholders;You have a good knowledge of Python and SQL (knowledge of Spark, Azure/Databricks, TensorFlow or Power BI is a plus);You are interested in the energy world and how data can make an impact there;
