Business / Functional Analyst – Aviation ITDomain: Aviation Network Operations (Line Haul Movement)Domain OverviewThis role operates within the Aviation IT environment, with a focus on Aviation Network Operations, including the planning and control of line haul movements across air and ground transport. The position supports operational excellence, digital transformation, and optimization of aviation network processes.Main Responsibilities1. Business & Functional AnalysisEngage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for aviation-related IT systems.Analyze existing operational processes and applications to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.Produce high-quality documentation, including:Conceptual business requirementsDetailed functional requirementsBusiness rulesLogical data modelsProcess modelsUse case specificationsEnsure all requirements are complete, consistent, and traceable throughout the project lifecycle.2. Technical Alignment & Solution SupportTranslate business needs into clear, actionable IT specifications for technical teams.Provide continuous analytical support during design and development phases.Contribute to the design and review of user interfaces to ensure usability and operational relevance.Apply model-driven structured analysis techniques (SA/SD, Information Engineering, or equivalent) across all deliverables.3. Project Delivery & Stakeholder ManagementWork closely with project managers to support the successful delivery of IT initiatives within agreed scope, budget, and timelines.Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, IT architects, developers, and quality assurance teams.Support testing phases by ensuring requirements accuracy and validating solution alignment.4. Industry Knowledge & Continuous ImprovementMaintain awareness of aviation industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and operational improvement within the aviation network environment.Bring additional value with domain experience in capacity optimization, demand forecasting, and resource allocation where applicable.Qualifications & SkillsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering, or related field.A Master’s degree is considered an advantage.ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience as a Business or Functional Analyst.Demonstrated experience in greenfield business analysis for the development of new applications.Analytical & Modeling ExpertiseExpert-level proficiency and proven experience with:Business process modelingLogical data modeling (entity-relationship or object/class modeling)Business rule specificationBusiness service specificationUse case analysisKnowledge of Domain-Driven Design (strategic design) is a plus.Methodologies & Soft SkillsFamiliarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.CertificationsCertifications such as CBAP are considered a plus.LanguagesEnglish: Fluent (verbal and written)Dutch: An asset
