About the Role
Yields' client base currently includes prominent and global financial institutions like BNP Paribas and HSBC. However, as industries beyond finance increasingly recognize the importance of AI risk management—driven by global AI regulations—new opportunities are emerging for Yields.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our commercial team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the company's growth and expanding the adoption of our AI risk management solution into new verticals outside of finance (e.g., HR, Energy, Healthcare, Manufacturing, etc).
Your mission will be to support and execute our commercial strategy while building a portfolio of clients in these new markets. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the company's strategic direction while achieving your sales targets. The role will involve occasional travel for events and sales meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in industries beyond our core finance market, particularly those increasingly recognizing the need for AI risk management solutions.
- Market Expansion: Assist in positioning Yields as a leader in AI risk management for emerging AI risk verticals. Collaborate with marketing to develop tailored messaging, sales presentations, case studies, and go-to-market strategies for new industries.
- Sales Target Achievement: Meet or exceed annual sales targets. Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting, negotiation, and closing to implementation handoff to Customer Success.
- Partnership Management: Proactively initiate new partnerships and design strategic partnership plans to drive the growth of our sales funnel.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Collaborate closely with the BDRs and Solution Engineer to support prospecting efforts and technology demonstrations. Regularly provide feedback to the Head of Sales on business opportunities, sales funnel progress, and ongoing activities.
- Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in AI, AI risk management, and industry regulations.
- Competitive Analysis: Conduct competitive analysis to understand market trends, competitor offerings, and industry challenges. Use this information to refine sales strategies, provide insights to the product team, and identify areas where Yields can gain a competitive edge.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in business development or sales within technology industries.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in a technical environment.
- Proven track record of working in a start-up/scale-up organization.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting and generating new business opportunities, with strong prospecting skills and the ability to open new doors in untapped markets.
- Strong verbal and written communication, fluent in English.
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency with sales tools (e.g., Hubspot & LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to manage leads, sales activities, and pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI tools and use cases.
