PCB DESIGN ENGINEER - KORTRIJK (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITIONThe PCB Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing high-quality printed circuit boards (PCBs) that meet electrical, mechanical, and regulatory requirements. This role focuses on translating schematics into manufacturable PCB layouts, optimizing for signal integrity, thermal performance, and cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance with industry standards.The PCB Design Engineer works closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and external suppliers to ensure that PCB designs are robust, reliable, and ready for production. The role involves evaluating design trade-offs, resolving technical challenges, and supporting prototype testing and verification.This position requires a balance of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills to coordinate across multiple functions and ensure that designs meet project requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with PCB design tools, understands high-speed and mixed-signal design principles, and is committed to continuous improvement in design processes and manufacturability.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop PCB layouts from schematic designs, including component placement, routing, power distribution, and signal integrity considerationsDesign single-layer, multi-layer, high-speed, and mixed-signal PCBs that meet project specificationsOptimize PCB designs for manufacturability, assembly, thermal performance, and cost efficiencyCollaborate with electrical engineers to ensure all design requirements and constraints are incorporatedConduct design rule checks (DRC), electrical rule checks (ERC), and signal integrity analysis to validate designsSupport prototype testing, debugging, and iterative improvements to ensure reliable functionalityWork with test and validation teams to identify and resolve PCB-related issuesPrepare and maintain complete PCB documentation, including Gerber files, BOMs, assembly drawings, and fabrication notesEnsure PCB designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and EMI/EMC requirementsParticipate in design reviews, change management processes, and version controlQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldProven experience in PCB design and layout, preferably for high-speed or mixed-signal applicationsProficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, or similarStrong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC considerations, and design for manufacturabilityKnowledge of PCB materials, stack-ups, and fabrication processesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skillsStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsThe Offer:A permanent, full-time employment contractA salary & benefits package commensurate with experiencePlease send over your CV to tom.walker@vividresourcing.com or call me on +32 (0) 3 318 00 74.
