J-Tec Material Handling is part of the Katoen Natie group. Katoen Natie is a global logistics and applied engineering provider. To optimally serve its customers, the organization is decentralized in business units, each acting independently and offering tailor-made solutions.

J-Tec Material Handling is the process engineering business unit of the group, offering material handling and process engineering solutions to industry market leaders in the chemical and food industries worldwide. We build turnkey process installations for our customers and strive to make a difference in terms of inventiveness, flexibility, and performance. We execute both green- and brownfield projects of different sizes with an average implementation time of one to two years.

We are a fast-growing company with an international team of more than 270 employees (and counting) and have offices in Belgium, Spain, Thailand, and the US.

Position: Customer Care Field Engineer

Your main task is regional field engineering, responsible for scheduled maintenance, service interventions, and providing (remote) support to customers. You will also support our Business Line Projects with the inspection, testing, and commissioning of our process installations at a safe and highly qualified level, acting as the crucial link between the customer and the internal organization. You report to the Business Line Manager Customer Care.

Tasks:
  • Provide technical support to customers and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Perform maintenance, check-ups, and inspections on J-Tec installations.
  • Conduct I/O testing and commissioning of new installations, coordinate the commissioning process, and supervise third parties involved in the commissioning.
  • Prepare intervention and commissioning documentation.
  • Perform hardware adjustments (electrical and mechanical).
  • Provide feedback on the progress of orders or interventions to customer care project officers or the project manager.

  • Accurate and precise in technical and administrative tasks.
  • Flexible and willing to travel and stay abroad for short durations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of Automation is a plus (Rockwell, Siemens PLC, etc.).
  • Broad technical knowledge (electrical and pneumatic) through experience or education.
  • Possession of a driver's license type B.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
  • Technical degree from higher education (Bachelor) or relevant experience.
