J-Tec Material Handling is the process engineering business unit of the group, offering material handling and process engineering solutions to industry market leaders in the chemical and food industries all over the world. We design and build turnkey process installations for our customers. Our company always strives to make a difference in terms of creativity, flexibility, and performance. We execute both green- and brownfield projects of different sizes with an average implementation time of one to two years.

We are a fast-growing company with an international team of more than 270 employees (and counting). We have offices in Belgium, Spain, Thailand, and the US.

Position: Assistant Manager Site Operations

As Assistant Manager Site Operations, you will work closely with the Site Operations Manager and support him in managing and overseeing J-Tec’s commissioning and construction activities. You will play a key role in the further growth and development of both departments. You will help manage and oversee daily operations of a successful and highly motivated commissioning and construction team.

Your tasks will be varied and depend on the different team needs and phases of a project. Therefore you will:

  1. Draft work instructions, trainings, and guidelines on good practices;
  2. Audit potential contractors for execution of the works;
  3. Ensure contractor debriefings and evaluations;
  4. Execute quality spot checks and report to the Site Operations Manager on KPIs;
  5. Assist the coordination teams when needed with the development of construction execution plans, site mobilization plans, construction scopes, and bid packages;
  6. Conduct constructability reviews to facilitate the construction works;
  7. Supervise staff, including the management of the resource planning of the department.
Your Profile
  • You possess a technical degree from higher education (Master/Bachelor) or equivalent by relevant experience.
  • You have experience with managing and organizing commissioning and/or mechanical construction sites, including the corresponding materials, safety, and quality regulations.
  • You like to work in a team, consult and discuss with colleagues, and take on the lead when necessary.
  • You are organizationally strong and work in a structured way, allowing you to process the administration efficiently with MS Office, SharePoint, and other internal programs.
  • You have strong communication skills and speak fluent Dutch and English; knowledge of German is an asset.
