Logistics at full potentialWe are looking for Shift Lead to support our site in Zellik, Belgium.The Shift Lead is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the department with particular emphasis on managing warehouse associates and implementing warehouse action plans.Establish and maintain procedures for meeting company and customer commitments; promote/implement continual improvement; training, motivation, and leadership within area of responsibility; conflict resolution; and enforcing company policies/proceduresLeading a team of approx. 40 FTE – working within out frozen goods warehouse – supporting on day-to-day needs, issues, absences, training etcFocus on productivity, quality and most importantly safetyOverseeing processes, reviewing route courses, leading to improvementsManaging quality of our service and best practicesThe site is -22 degrees environment, but we will keep you warm and comfortable when within our frozen environmentAbility to cover 2 shifts between Monday – Friday rotational - 06.00 – 14.00 + 14.00 – 22.00Saturday morning working approx. once a month - 4.00 - 12.00Fluent Dutch or French (preferably French) willing to learn another languageYour role as a Shift LeadManages team performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching.Responsible to meet all operational KPI’s.Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy.Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required.Lead start-up activities with cross functional teamsResponsible to make recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, performance evaluations, and promotions.Daily interaction with internal and external customer on operational level.Personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workloadMaintain documentation of processes that are followed by the department Train associates so an up to date understanding of processes, policies and procedures aremaintained.Work safely as per GXO Health & Safety trainings, standards, procedures and processes and actively contribute to a safer work environment for colleagues and visitors.Contribution to structural reduction of negative environmental impact from usage of natural resources (a/o energy, water, fuel) and from emissions (waste, carbon) and to contribute to environmental performance initiatives.Adhere to applicable legal requirements, GXO and industry standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.What you need to succeed at GXO as a Team LeaderExperience of leading a team within a warehousing/distribution/food or production environment, understanding the picking and processing duties.Fluent Dutch or French (preferably French) willing to learn another languageA proactive, hands-on working style and the ability to support teams effectively.We offer you.A challenging leadership position with the autonomy to grow and develop your teamCompetitive salary with attractive fringe benefitsMulticultural environmentSpace to really shape your leadership and improvement projectsUnlock the potential of your futureYour work environmentWorking at GXO Logistics means working in a dynamic and international organization.
