Field Service Engineer Mechanical Rotating
Howden Maintenance Partners is part of Chart Industries and is a growing service company within the group, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machines, both electrical and mechanically rotating. Think of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, steam turbines, turbochargers, reciprocating compressors, and expanders. This can be done at the customer's site or in one of our branches.

As a Service Technician, you go on-site to overhaul machines at the customer. If more thorough maintenance is required, you are responsible for dismantling so that maintenance or repair of the machine can be done in the workshop. After maintenance or repair, you will rebuild the machine at the customer's site.
What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…- You overhaul all possible (electro)mechanical equipment such as compressors, turbines, and pumps;
- When disassembling, after measuring the machine, you will disassemble the machine and prepare it for transport;
- After the overhaul or repair in the workshop, you will install the machine back on-site and then align it and switch it on further;
- When disassembling and assembling the installation, you will take care of, among other things, fitting, aligning, determining spellings, and further assembling and/or installing new installations. You use the necessary tools for this and have any special tools made in consultation;
- You check whether the work can be carried out safely;
- You are responsible for the test run of the repaired or new installation, in consultation with the supervisor/customer;
- You will take care of the adjustment of the various components, whether hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical;
- You keep track of the work, newly purchased parts or tools, and hours worked.
- You have an upper secondary education diploma in a technical direction or equivalent through experience;
- Pump technology, hydraulics, and pneumatics no longer hold any secrets for you;
- Experience with the alignment of directly coupled machines or with belt transmission – check
- A basic knowledge of mounting and disassembling bearings is definitely a plus;
- You enjoy working outside the classic 9-5 framework;
- You have a driving license B.
- You have a strong affinity with the industrial sector (chemicals, petrochemicals, power,...);
- You have a lot of passion for your job and you are interested in the latest developments in your field;
- You are a team player, but can also work well independently; your strong communication skills help you with this;
- You get a boost by working in new environments every time;
- Organization, flexibility, and independence are your middle names;
- A trip abroad here and there, that makes your heart beat faster.
