Jr. Mechanical Technician

Howden Maintenance Partners is part of Chart Industries and is a growing service company within the group, specializing in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial machines, both electrical and mechanically rotating. Think of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, steam turbines, turbochargers, reciprocating compressors, and expanders. This can be done at the customer's site or in one of our branches.

As a technician, you will be responsible for carrying out mechanical assemblies in the workshop using technical drawings, with special attention to pumps, gearboxes, fans, blowers, small compressors, and more.

• You carry out the assignments given by the work planner;
• You are responsible for the visual and geometric inspection of job-specific parts;
• You complete incoming inspection reports and final assembly reports;
• You disassemble and assemble impellers, steam turbine blades, sealing strips, and couplings in the workshop;
• You perform small machine work e.g. turning, milling;
• You will work with specific tools such as bearing puller, bearing heater, oxy-fuel burners, hydraulic high-pressure tools, and torque wrenches;
• You are responsible for low-speed balancing of rotors;
• Working with overhead crane, hoists, and small forklift;
• You actively participate in team meetings (QRM, Toolbox, ...);
• Demonstrates flexibility and initiative to complete tasks successfully.

• You have a degree in Mechanics or equivalent through experience;
• You can express yourself well in Dutch, both orally and in writing;
• You have a basic knowledge of rotating equipment;
• You are a strong communicator and make contacts easily;
• You have experience in reading construction drawings;
• You have a basic VCA training course or are willing to follow it;
• You have had basic training in overhead cranes;
• You have a lot of passion for your job and you are interested in the latest developments in your field;
• You are a team player, but can also work well independently, your strong communication skills help you with this;
• You get a boost by working in new environments every time;
• Organization, flexibility, and independence are your middle names;
• You can withstand variable workload with sporadic overtime and weekend work.
