We're on the lookout for a talent who can effortlessly juggle the roles of Senior Tech Lead/ Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at benerail. You will be the driving force behind our technological and information strategy, ensuring that technology aligns perfectly with our goals and processes while pushing innovation in customer solutions.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the analysis and evaluation of our current technology landscape;
- Identifying reorganization and optimization opportunities to streamline internal processes and align technology with organizational goals;
- Developing and executing comprehensive technology and information strategies;
- Identifying and evaluating new technologies to enhance the company's competitive edge;
- Leading and fostering an innovation culture;
- Guiding and supporting teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation;
- Effectively communicating our vision to internal and external stakeholders.
Your ability to balance and excel in both internal and external improvements and innovations will be crucial for the future of our organization

We are looking for someone who:
- Is as comfortable joining an informal drink with the team as attending a serious meeting. A leader who stays grounded and enjoys being part of the team. You are open to new ideas and promote a safe environment where experimenting is encouraged;
- Has at least 5 years of experience in a technological leadership or a similar role, with proven capabilities to lead and guide teams effectively;
- Has excellent problem-solving skills with a track record of providing innovative solutions to complex challenges;
- Has experience in identifying process improvements and implementing effective solutions;
- Has experience in converting legacy applications to a modern architecture and tech stack with a view on development platforms, infrastructure, security, applied in a Java and Kubernetes oriented environment;
- Has experience with:
- JSON/REST APIs;
- Java, incl. Spring framework (Boot, Security, Cloud Gateway, etc.);
- Kubernetes, Docker;
- ELK (Elastic Search, now OpenSearch, Logstash, Kibana) setups;
- Relational databases;
- Enterprise Service Bus solutions;
- CI/CD pipelines;
- Cloud Services;
- Development, test, and system management tooling;
- Technical aspects of security and privacy.
- Has deep knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their potential in various business contexts;
- Has experience with vendor management;
- Has a solid understanding of security and privacy matters, as well as relevant standards;
- Has an open and forward-thinking mindset;
- Has the ability to collaborate and share knowledge effectively with cross-functional teams;
- Has experience with:
- Scrum/agile methodology;
- DevOps implementations.
- Is proficient in English as a working language;
- Speaks Dutch and/or French (this is a plus);
- Is flexible to travel to Antwerp regularly.
