Within the Network Management Directorate, "Infrastructure" works with all aviation stakeholders to ensure their Network infrastructure supports the evolving needs of the Network operations, whereby providing amongst other: Network CNS coverage, information Management, NewPENS, Cyber Security and Deployment Services in a cost-effective, proactive and coordinated manner with our stakeholders.


As our new European Aeronautical Database Change & Evolution Specialist, you will monitor the changes and evolution of the European Aeronautical Information System Database (EAD), you will review and contribute to the change proposals and documentation and contribute to dedicated user meetings or workshops.


YOUR ROLE

Your role will be to:

  • Collect and analyse feedback from both EAD data operation service provider (EAD Ops room) and EAD Data service provider/user community, and review and identify change proposals and related specifications.
  • Produce and review EAD subsystem documentations (User/technical requirements, Test cases/procedures, User Manual, etc.) and ensure that the Change Proposals are effectively documented.
  • Assess the Change Proposals included in the EAD releases, based on approved Test cases/procedures, and conduct additional operational and workflow testing sessions.
  • Monitor and analyse EAD technical incidents and requirements and support the team in the oversight activities of the EAD service.
  • Provide operational support and advice on EAD related topics and activities and organise and/or participate to workshops/meetings involving a wide range of stakeholders. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • University degree of 4 years in a relevant area (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Technology (ICT), Engineering, ATM) followed by minimum 4 years of relevant working experience (of which minimum 2 years in an international environment).
  • Experience in software architecture and design.
  • Experience in audits conducted by EASA.
  • Knowledge of serviceoriented architecture (SOA) and web services/web feature services (WS/WFS).
  • Knowledge of systemtosystem interfaces (B2B) and message exchange patterns, including request/response (e.g. SOAP), publish/subscribe (e.g. AMQP), RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of graphical user interfaces (GUI).
  • Technical drafting skills in English.
  • Would be considered an advantage:
  • Experience in Aeronautical Information Management
  • Experience in document / content management systems.
  • Experience in project management and/or Agile SCRUM framework.
  • Knowledge of the EAD service, EAD subsystems or SWIM specifications and services.
  • Knowledge of XML, XSLT or XML Editors such as Oxygen Editor, Altova XML Spy, Visual Studio.
  • Basic Knowledge of of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards and aeronautical information exchange models, in particular AIXM
  • Planning and organising: you know how to plan ahead and adapts as required.
  • Customer focus: you adapt services to respond to customer needs.
  • Quality focus: you sets and fosters and fosters high quality standards.
  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
  • Professional conduct in line with the corporate behaviours of the Agency, i.e. resultdriven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and teamplayer approach.
