YOUR contribution:

Context:

  • Within the Risk Expertise Center of GEMS, the Market Risk main missions are :_
- _Definition and translation of risk appetite into well designed set of limits in the Risk mandates;_
- _Proactive and constructive challenge of Front Office hedging strategies ensuring we reach an optimal risk/reward ratio in line with risk appetite;_
- _Review risk profile and profitability of special deals requesting an Origination Committee validation ;_
- _Alert on limit breaches and monitor effective and timely implementation of hedging decisions including providing concrete advice for remediation._

  • For the Power CWE scope, we are looking to appoint a new Market Risk Stream Leader_

Role:

As the Stream Leader of the Power Trading CWE, you will have in your scope the monitoring of:

  • The Power Trading Business Platform (except the ETS Trading activity);
  • The BU Nuke and Thermal Europe hedging activities performed by GEMS on their behalf.

Key missions:

More particularly, you will be in charge of:

  • Providing a key advisory role for the Risk mandates definition and calibration;
  • The organization of the daily work of the Risk reporting activities on the Power scope;
  • Setting priorities and building a roadmap for future developments;
  • Designing, in close collaboration with the digital task force, the reporting process;
  • Acting as a first line contact of Market Risk towards other stakeholders (Traders, Portfolio Managers, Group Risk,...).

About YOU:

Hard skills:

  • Good understanding of the energy and derivatives markets ;
  • You have strong analytical and digital skills (you are able to code in Python).

Soft skills:

  • You have strong interpersonal skills to interact with portfolio managers, traders and other team members;
  • You have good communication skills to make clear and didactic presentations in various committees.

Education and professional background:

  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, IT or similar);
  • 5 years minimum working experience in the energy or finance sector.

Languages:

  • You speak English fluently.
