AnimalhealthEurope is the association representing manufacturers of animal medicines, vaccines and other animal health products in Europe
It is a not-for-profit body representing both corporate members and national animal health associations in Europe. It represents both innovators and generics alike, as well as large, medium-sized and small companies. AnimalhealthEurope's membership covers 90% of the European market for animal health products.

JOB PROFILE
OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The purpose of this role is to assist the association in the further development of its Public Affairs activities. This role will contribute by providing support to the Public Affairs department.
SCOPE OF THE JOB
- Contribute to the management and implementation of the decisions taken in the association's Public Affairs Committee and related working groups;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of advocacy strategies that are consistent with the priorities of the animal health industry (One health, Sustainability & Innovation);
- Support the association in maintaining and developing a network of contacts with EU institutions, (in particular with DG Environment), agencies (EMA, ECHA, etc.) and dialogue with other European trade associations and stakeholders;
- Monitor and report on political developments relevant to the animal health industry at EU level;
- Represent the association and report on meetings with EU institutions and stakeholders, at official working groups, conferences and workshops;
- Contribute to the development and the drafting of positions and other public affairs related documents;
- Contribute to strategic planning and wider departmental planning;
- Assist with temporary projects such as the organisation of events.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
DESIRABLE
Knowledge and Experience
- 13 years work experience in public affairs, European advocacy;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of EU decisionmaking processes;
- Experience in the field of environment and chemical related legislation (REACH).
- Experience in issues relating to animal health and/or welfare, agriculture, life sciences, veterinary medicine, and/or trade;
- Experience working in a trade association
Qualifications and Training
- Academic Masters degree or higher in Political Science, Environment, Life Science, International and/or European Law, European Studies, or similar;
- Proficient in English (C1 or C2);
- Good IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Other languages skills are an asset;
- Experience and interest in digital communication tools.
