About the position


Your role as a Patent Advisor in AWA will include to draft patents, prosecute the files and have basic contacts with clients and inventors in the frame of the drafting and prosecution.

You will work in close collaboration with your colleague Michel Gilio who is an EQE qualified attorney, you will manly focus on our clients in Flanders therefore you should be fluent in Dutch.


Examples of work tasks are:

  • Patent prosecution and drafting
  • Participate to FTO analysis
  • Client contact
  • General advise on IP


As a Patent Advisor, you will belong to a team in Brussels where you report to Paul-André Gollier, Head of AWA Benelux.

The position is full-time and the location is hybrid, which means you can work half time from home and half time in Brussels office in Tour & Taxis.

The desired appointment is as soon as possible taking into account the notice period.

Who are you?


We are looking for you with a Master or PhD in technical matters (such as mechanics, electronics, optics or physics), and it's meritorious if you are partly or fully EQE qualified.

We believe that you have at least three years of experience as a patent adviser and that you will sit the EQE in 2024.

Furthermore, you are fluent in English and Dutch, and it's desirable with knowledge in German and/or French.
