The European Psychiatric Association is the largest international association of psychiatrists in Europe, with active members in 88 countries. It includes leading experts covering the interests of psychiatrists in academia and in practice.

The EPA deals with psychiatry and its specialised disciplines, focuses on the improvement of care for the mentally ill and on the development of professional excellence.

The EPA represents individual members, as well as 44 National Psychiatric Associations across Europe.

Its main activity is the organisation of scientific events, in particular the European Congress of Psychiatry once a year in a European city.


We have a temporary vacancy for a dynamic and well-organised Project Manager, who will work with our Executive Director in the completion and roll out of our Long-Term Plan (LTP), in the work related to the pilot European Board Exam in Psychiatry, and will also work with the Director of Governance and Administration on matters related to Association Governance.

Tasks

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support the EPA Leadership and Executive Director in the development and implementation of two key projects, the Long-Term Plan (LTP) and Pilot European Board Exam in Psychiatry.
  • Help provide quality support to EPA governing bodies, ensuring the highest standard in governance rules and practice.

Project Management:

  • Project manage the completion of our predesigned strategic planning system
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders
  • Organise meetings
  • Draft agendas and resolutions
  • Prepare and collate information, document and slides
  • Draft meeting minutes and keep a record of decisions made and follow up actions needed
  • Communicate actions and decisions and ensure their implementation and follow up
  • Provide regular and comprehensive updates on progress
  • Organise elections and voting
  • Project manage any necessary updates of the EPA statutory provisions (Statutes and Rules of Procedure)
  • Ensure compliance with EPA statutory provisions

Collaboration and teamwork:

  • Contribute to a number of ongoing, crosscutting, EPA projects
  • Daytoday interactions with the Executive Director and other team members for the purposes of smooth internal communications and work planning at all levels

Requirements:

Profile:

  • University degree in international relations, law, business administration, project management or related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management in a similar post
  • Excellent communication skills in English (fluent oral and written)
  • Working knowledge of French required, other languages a plus
  • Project management mindset and excellent organisational skills: ability to take initiative, multitask, prioritise and work under set deadlines or under pressure, flexible
  • Strong collaborative skills: teamoriented, able to work with diverse and demanding groups of people
  • Full command of Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • At ease in multicultural and remote environments
  • Additional assets: (project management certification, knowledge of and experience with associations and international environments; experience with web content management tools (i.e. Word Press, etc).)

  • Full time 5 month temporary contract (maternity leave) possibility for extension in case of parental leave replacement
  • Based at the EPA Office in Brussels, Beligum (partial teleworking possible under set conditions)
