Job Title: Field Service Technician
Company: Alstom
Objective of the Role
Performing commissioning, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of signaling products on integration and operation sites according to provided documents and specifications.
Network and Relationships
- Internal Interfaces: Project Commissioning Manager, Engineering Office, Industrialization Office, Validation & Testing Unit, Data Preparation Unit, Supply Chain, Product Development & Industrialization, Project Manager
- External Interfaces: Belgian and foreign customers, integrators
Activities and Responsibilities
The Technician ensures the compliance of the serviced or repaired equipment with the provided procedures and specifications. In case of issues, the hierarchy is informed for decision-making.
Mission Preparation
- Ensure logistical conditions are met for the mission in communication with the client.
Product Commissioning
- Prior to starting activities, ensure safety rules for working under voltage are met.
- Verify functioning and calibration of test tools.
- Conduct tests as per the product procedure and specification.
- Replace faulty equipment and ensure repair following procedures.
- Report any non-conformity during commissioning phase to the project.
Evaluation Criteria
Achieving set objectives in terms of Quality, Costs, and Deadlines.
Profile
Educational Background/Experience
Technical degree in electronics or electricity or equivalent experience in an industrial setting.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Operational level in Acrobat Reader and testing software
- Intermediate-high level of English (B2)
- Possibility of using Dutch, German, and/or Italian at an intermediate level (B1)
- BA5 and VCA certifications
- Applied electronics knowledge
- Familiarity with railway signaling products
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical assembly standards
- Ability to adapt to new work situations and tools
- Analyze and resolve problems
- Work independently and in cooperation with others
- Handle emergency situations positively
- Communicate factual and concise information necessary for job tasks
- Driver's license (B)
Location
- Charleroi, Belgium
- Frequent and sometimes unexpected travels (including emergencies) in Belgium and abroad
- Possible night, weekend, and holiday work
