To strengthen our Devices, Packaging and Wearable Tech. team, we are looking for a high caliber, self-motivated, Materials and Medical Devices Testing and Characterization Expert based in Braine l'Alleud, Belgium

You like to work in an environment where you will:

  • Be accountable for the development and validation of the methods and technologies to support the development as well as the characterization of the primary, secondary packaging and devices.
  • Collaborate actively with the project leads and lab scientists to define the workplan and the associated resources
  • Build up and drive a harmonized and consistent scientific strategy to support the development of technologies for medical devices and delivery systems
  • Maintain and develop scientific expertise in testing and characterization through scientific literature, conferences or continuing education opportunities
  • Support innovative technology platforms to allow a fast and agile support to all stakeholders
  • Help troubleshooting the equipment
  • Contribute to the implementation of the new technologies (e.g. instructions of use)
  • When needed, (co)author the study protocol, coordinate and/or run the lab experiments, analyzing and reporting the results.
  • Network with the external experts and potential partners in order to evaluate and potentially implement new technical solutions
  • Ensure the activities are performed in compliance with the quality systems in place
Interested? For this position you'll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Packaging science and materials technology focused
  • Strong knowledge in Devices/materials testing and Characterization
  • Knowledgeable in statistics and data interpretation
  • Strong scientific acumen
  • Passionate by lab work and applied sciences
  • Pedagogical skills to share her/his knowledge
  • Team worker
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proactive and flexible to solve problems and to continuously improve business processes.
  • Must be able to independently manage scientific tasks in order to meet deadlines within given constraints in resources, e.g. headcount, equipment, time, etc.
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus
