About the Team:

This role is part of the wider Global Privacy & Regulatory Affairs team and sits in the Legal department.

This is an opportunity to further develop your career in a company that enjoys hyper growth on a truly global scale and advises on cutting edge products and features at the intersection of privacy and technology.

They will support TikTok's Office of the Data Protection Officer ("ODPO") in executing their role in advising on compliance with European data protection laws.

They will also support workstreams associated with compliance with relevant EU laws, including the DMA and, where there is shared scope, the DSA and AI Act.


This is an individual contributor role that will provide an important contribution to TikTok's culture of compliance and requires someone experienced in risk, compliance, governance and regulatory matters.

The PMO must be prepared to lead complex projects, create and execute exceptional processes and obtain buy-in, where relevant. This position combines project management, operational work, compliance program development and stakeholder management. Communication, accountability, organisation and diligence are critical skills for the PMO to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the ODPO's involvement with a range of governance efforts and coordinating the relevant information, documentation and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain key project management materials relating to compliance program(s) / project(s), to support organisational efficiency (e.g., project plans, RACI matrix).
  • Organise key meetings, agendas and relevant administrative work with relevant stakeholders to ensure open and consistent lines of communication.
  • Liaise with cross functional teams to ensure future product and processing changes which may impact compliance are identified as early as possible and remediations are implemented.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of compliance related policies and procedures, including planning for the preparation and implementation of any new documentation.
  • Build and enhance operational workflows across compliance, developing automated solutions to relieve administrative burdens, where possible.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Develop and execute compliance program roadmaps and compliance monitoring activities, with clear deliverables, timelines and stakeholders and established reporting cadences.
  • Actively assist with the development and management of the risk and controls frameworks.
  • Develop cross functional insights required for compliance and report relevant updates in both written and verbal forms, escalating where appropriate, work with key stakeholders to develop a strategy and roadmap to perform remediation and mitigation work.
  • Ability to lead and manage audits with external partners.
  • Lead and manage obligations to prepare confidential and nonconfidential reports regarding the company's compliance with applicable laws.
  • Lead and coordinate communication and collaboration across all functions, establishing synergies with other regulations (e.g. DMA, DSA, GDPR, EU AI Act).
  • Support the wider compliance team(s) with administrative work, such as coordinating presentations, sharing summary reports, managing the ODPO Team's internal projects and initiatives relating to compliance, assisting with preparation in advance of regulatory meetings and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in a compliance related project / program management role, in which you built and actively worked in compliance related programs.
  • A track record of delivering complex initiatives in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of regulatory compliance practices, frameworks and requirements.
  • Exceptionally strong written communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to successfully engage and influence stakeholders across all levels and functions.
