Investment Risk Manager

- Provide oversight for Investment Risk Management of Luxembourg-domiciled products, including UCITS and AIF funds, as well as managed accounts.
- Conduct daily monitoring of risk metrics, such as global exposure, leverage, counterparty risk, liquidity risk, and sustainability risk, utilizing existing risk monitoring reports.
- Perform investigations using available risk tools and systems, and enhance risk reporting procedures.
- Monitor Synthetic Reward and Risk Indicators (SRRI) for UCITS funds weekly.
- Play a pivotal role in delivering investment risk support to NL AIFM (LDI business).
- Report observations and findings to the Head of Risk Management.
- Conduct risk profiles for funds, both liquid and illiquid, as required.
- Prepare and review reports for monthly risk management working groups and management company/funds board meetings, consolidating information from various risk reports.
- Review regulatory risk reports, including UCITS Risk Report, AIFM report, and ad hoc risk reports/surveys.
- Participate in risk management working groups, presenting relevant risk reports to the broader investment risk team.
- Collaborate closely with Investment Risk colleagues based in Luxembourg, London, and the US, and represent the risk team at various committees/working groups.
- Ensure compliance with Luxembourg and European regulations regarding risk management activities undertaken by the Management Company.
- Interface regularly with the investment risk IT team to enhance existing risk reports and address data issues.
- Engage with fund managers, auditors (internal and external), and regulators as necessary.
- Conduct regular reviews of policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring alignment with UCITS and AIFMD regulations and any new applicable regulations.
- Provide support to the Head of Risk Management on ad hoc requests and projects, such as VaR model review and changes to risk metrics.
- Previous experience within a Luxembourg Management Company focusing on Investment Risk Management.
- Experience with both liquid and illiquid strategies (LDI, MMF).
- Broad knowledge of asset classes and markets, with experience in LDI and MMF strategies considered advantageous.
- Strong understanding of UCITS and AIFMD risk management frameworks, as well as various types of risk measures (market, counterparty, credit, liquidity, and sustainable risk).
- Familiarity with financial markets and risk management practices, with the ability to challenge fund managers.
- Proficiency in interpreting regulations related to risk management.
- Understanding of risk models and their limitations, experience with the Aladdin system preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
