Senior Writer – Creative Review

About the role
Working with the Creative Review Editor and the broader editorial team, you will assist in developing the content strategy for the magazine both online and in print.
You will create features and news articles for Creative Review's quarterly print magazine and website, as well as contribute ideas for CR's different content series.
Additionally, you will participate in Creative Review's events, podcast series, and Annual Awards, and play a role in managing the CR advisory board.
You should be comfortable collaborating with various teams within the organization, serving as a CR brand representative at different events and networking opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Generating story ideas and crafting selected stories for print and online platforms.
- Researching and investigating stories through contacts, press releases, and other media sources.
- Assisting in the production of the magazine and online content, including editing and visual content research.
- Conducting interviews in various settings and reaching out to industry contacts for publishable opinions and quotes.
- Monitoring industry announcements, responding to tips, and attending relevant conferences.
- Creating and publishing features and news articles on the website.
- Composing content for the printed magazine.
- Ensuring accuracy and addressing any potential legal concerns in stories.
- Maintaining consistency with the publication's style guidelines.
- Sourcing images and graphics to complement articles.
- Supporting the Editor on larger CR projects such as events, podcasts, Annual Awards, and the advisory board when necessary.
- Participating in panel discussions and Annual Awards evaluations.
- Enhancing CR's industry presence and brand recognition.
What we require from you
- An experienced journalist or editor, preferably with a background in advertising and design industries.
- Previous experience collaborating within an editorial team and regularly developing content strategies.
- Established network within the commercial creative sectors, particularly in design and advertising.
- Curiosity and a knack for uncovering compelling stories.
- Understanding of high-quality content creation.
- Proficiency in tools like WordPress, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
- Adaptability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within and outside the organization.
- Exemplary professionalism, keen attention to detail, and a drive to foster relationships and explore growth opportunities.
