Onsite Network Specialist

We're currently looking for an Onsite Network Specialist to join our client's dynamic team. This role involves operating a comprehensive network managed services infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure:

  • LAN maintenance across approximately 80 buildings.
  • WAN connections utilizing MPLS technology.
  • Management of Wi-Fi hotspots.
  • Data centre network services.

Network Security and Application Infrastructure:

  • Multilayer firewall management.
  • Proxy and reverse proxy appliance operations.
  • DNS infrastructure and authentication server management.

Telephony and Videoconferencing Infrastructure:

  • Maintenance of nonenduser devices.
  • Management of large video studios, conferencing rooms, and personal video systems.

Network Intervention Services:

  • Onsite intervention including technical room management.
  • Storehouse and spare services management.

Compliance Infrastructure:

  • Definition and maintenance of processes and associated tools.
  • Metrics and KPIs reporting.

Supporting Infrastructure:

  • Maintenance of underlying infrastructures including filesystems and central computer platforms.
  • Development of automation tools for service reliability.

Test and Lab Infrastructure:

  • Assisting in defining test programs for design projects.
  • Automating test programs for regression and fault testing.

Daily Activities:

  • Network cabling and reporting discrepancies.
  • Preventive maintenance.
  • Onsite repairs following incidents.
  • Network port configuration.
  • Cable testing, documentation, and storage.
  • Issue resolution for cable faults.
  • Collaboration with electricians, contractors, and thirdparty vendors.
  • Inventory management of data cabling/patching.
  • Equipment installation/removal in technical rooms.

Requirements:

  • Education: BAC with solid knowledge in computer sciences.
  • Understanding of network principles (switching/routing).

Skills Required:

  • 35 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in patching.
  • Preferable: Experience with Wi-Fi sitesurveys and onsite troubleshooting.

Location and Timing:

  • Primary work locations: Luxembourg and Brussels, with occasional travel to other sites (about 1 day per month).
  • Business hours: 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • Oncall duty during nights or weekends (approximately one week every three weeks).
