We’re looking for a Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our growing compliance team in
Brussels. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission and grow as a specialist in regulatory compliance.
**Your mission**:
Wise continues to pioneer new ways for people and businesses to send, spend and manage their money across borders and currencies. Your mission is, as a member of the regulatory compliance function, to enable Wise to take the business to the next level in accordance with its regulatory obligations.
**Your tasks**:
- Identify (horizon scanning) and support with implementation of existing and upcoming Belgian regulatory requirements (e.g. PSD2, NBB Circulars, EBA guidelines, PSD3/PSR, DORA)
- Provide trainings to Wise teams to raise awareness on applicable compliance obligations
- Work with and provide independent advice to product and product compliance teams on conformity of new product developments with applicable regulatory requirements
- Draft and ensure the regular update and communication of the Wise Europe regulatory compliance policies and procedures
- Ensure that within the scope of your tasks we retain a transparent and collaborative relationship with our regulators and we comply with our notification obligations (e.g. major incident reportability assessment, new product notifications)
**This role will give you the opportunity to**:
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of Wise’s customers and products and be part of our mission to make money without borders the new normal.
- Help keep our product safe and compliant.
- Choose your own path to impact and success - you’ll be part of the regulatory compliance team of our Belgian entity but you will be empowered to have ownership from day one. Of course, you will have feedback from smart, curious people across Wise but you’ll experience unique levels of ownership and empowerment within your role.
**A bit about you**:
- Experience in a second line compliance function of a financial institution (preferably payment or e-money institution)
- You have sound knowledge of payments’ industry regulatory requirements
- You have demonstrable experience designing and proactively challenging processes and controls, ideally across multiple products, to promote a compliant yet practical approach to building and maintaining products.
- You have thought deeply about the Wise´s mission and how it intersects with compliance;
- Ability to multi-task and take responsibility in challenging situations: you are able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You have strong communication skills and you can make a logical, persuasive argument for relevant teams which fairly represents the regulatory requirements and risks
- Language: fluent in English
**Some Extra Skills That Would Be Great**
- Previous experience in working in a compliance team of a financial institution regulated in Belgium
- Able to speak French or Dutch fluently
