Introductie:

Our client wil start a new construction project. To reinforce the team, they are seeking a Sub-Project Manager Engineering.

Organisatie:

  • The subproject manager engineering is responsible for the overall engineering coordination for the project.
  • You will coordinate the activities of the subcontractors for the relevant subcontract.
  • You will involve the discipline lead engineers and assure the compliance with local, legal and group requirements for the sub project.
  • You will be responsible for all design aspects of the subproject and will incorporate the operational design requirements into the design.
  • Coordinate all activities between the subproject and the different departments. Also involvement in the construction phase of the project and support the activities for preparation of the commissioning, startup and rampup period of the subproject.
  • Reporting to the site project manager.

Functie:

  • You will be deployed to a strategic project supporting the respective basic and detailed engineering phase and manage the project in a legally secure manner and also regarding time, costs and quality.
  • You are responsible for the (basic and detailed) project planning including alignment with relevant stakeholders.
  • You optimize the construction planning with regards to regulations as well as to overarching health, safety and environmental objectives of the group.
  • You support project procurement in category management, review supplier offers (incl. drawings) critically, optimize RFx documents and take care of claim management.
  • You exchange with suppliers to identify the best possible solution for the strategic project.
  • You monitor all project works critically in preparation of the commissioning phase.
  • You tackle disruptions in your responsibility area with the aim of sustainably reducing disruption rates.
  • You maintain contact and stay aligned with the engineering manager of the site, the discipline engineers and site maintenance until commissioning.
  • You ensure a proper information flow from Engineering to Operations for proper implementation of the equipment (e.q. shutdown planning).
  • You ensure contractor compliance with all relevant project targets such as legal, safety, quality, planning and budget.
  • You determine relevant design data for the engineering of the subproject and evaluate and describe the necessary changes from the intended design.
  • You lead the decision process of technical solutions to be used in the area of responsibility.
  • You are responsible for quality control during design, manufacturing and construction of equipment from engineering point of view.
  • You secure the functionality of the planned equipment to meet the operational/maintenance demand.
  • You ensure selected realisation of the subproject meets the environmental permit of the site.

Functie-eisen:

  • You have successfully completed a master's degree or diploma.
  • It would be beneficial to have an understanding of chemical or metallurgical production processes and requirements.
  • You have at least 57 years of practical experience in project engineering and work experience as a project engineer and subproject manager of major CapEx projects (>10 Mio. EUR), ideally in an international engineering environment.
  • You are wellversed with Belgian construction standards.
  • You can trust in your professional experience with relevant software tools (e.g. MS 365 incl. MS Project, simulation software, ERP software).
  • Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English is required, German or French is a plus.
  • You possess excellent project management skills.
  • You are able to provide direction and guidance to a group of people and to encourage cooperation between team members in order to attain the project objectives.
  • You have strong teamwork skills and interest in new tasks and challenges as well as intercultural empathy.
  • As an excellent communicator, you are able to deliver presentations routinely to relevant stakeholders and external partners.
  • You have the ability to make operative tradeoff decisions to accomplish project objectives under consideration of the overall strategy of the company in the decisionmaking process.
  • You possess proven problemsolving skills and a high level of independency (in planning, organization, execution and controlling).
  • You can work under tight deadlines and high pressure while sustaining professional behavior.
  • You possess strong organizational skills.
  • You are open for constructive feedback as well as willing for selfdevelopment.
  • You are able to motivate of employees and subcontractors.
