Product Manager – Frozen Bakery Improvers

As part of the Business Unit Bakery Improvers and Mixes, you will spearhead product management initiatives for frozen bakery improvers globally from our hub in Groot-Bijgaarden, Brussels.

Aligned with the overarching Puratos strategy and in close collaboration with key stakeholders, your responsibilities entail:

  • Setting and executing the product strategy per channel and market,
  • Overseeing the product portfolio,
  • Driving product-centric business growth,
  • Guiding (product) innovation endeavors

Collaborating with your R&D counterpart, you will work towards achieving business objectives (growth & profitability) to meet annual targets and long-term plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive market analysis on the frozen baked goods sector and frozen bakery improvers, drawing insights from various data outlets to anticipate business implications.
  • Devising and executing the product strategy in alignment with Markets/Channels/Operations to achieve optimal competitive positioning and realize short and long-term business goals.
  • Managing the product portfolio (optimizing profitability, pricing, SKU management, benchmarking) and all facets of the marketing mix (branding, pricing, route to market, promotions...)
  • Monitoring sales performance including volume, revenue, margin evolution, customer engagement, and proposing corrective measures or acceleration plans in conjunction with local entities and regional management.
  • Actively supporting business development efforts (markets, channels, customers) through customer interactions, presentations, training, and knowledge exchange.
  • Developing sales and product communication tools in alignment with Group communication strategy.
  • Managing the Innovation pipeline following Stage & Gate processes to foster future differentiation.
  • Cultivating relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to reinforce the product vision and garner engagement across various organizational levels.

Required Skills

  • Holding a Business or Marketing degree with substantial experience in product management and a keen emphasis on communication. Exposure to an international B2C environment is advantageous.
  • Exhibiting robust organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Being data-driven, inquisitive, digitally savvy, and inspired by the multifaceted nature of local consumer food cultures.
  • Showing a competitive spirit, a strong customer-centric approach, and a commitment to continuous enhancement across all aspects of our operations, while daring to push boundaries to deliver superior value in products and services, as well as meaningful innovations.
  • Demonstrating a passion for culinary arts and a desire to comprehend the technical intricacies of food production, enabling effective communication with R&D, technical advisors, and Operations.
  • Proficient in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
