The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential institute within the University of Cambridge working on a mission to develop leadership and solutions towards a sustainable economy.
CISL's Brussels office works at EU, member state and international levels to deliver influential projects that include the European Corporate Leaders Group, the Materials and Products Taskforce and the EU Green Growth Partnership.
We work closely with several partners, including as a founding partner of the We Mean Business Coalition and convener of a European group of national business networks working on climate.
About the role
This exciting role is based in the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)'s Brussels office.
It is an opportunity to join a dynamic team that mobilises senior business leaders and European policy makers to accelerate the transition to a net zero economy.
In this position, you'll have the opportunity of working in a variety of environments - with high level decisionmakers, leading businesses or academia - where you will have responsibility for delivering projects on time and on budget.

The role would include:
- Project managing for the Corporate Leaders Group Europe. This involves supporting with coordination, communication and liaising with the group, the planning and organization of activities to implement CLG Europe's strategy and leading on the project management of key CLG and Green Growth Partnership events. A recent major GGP event was the GGP Summit last October.
- Other key activities that will require support as part of the CLG Europe work include:
- Supporting the mobilisation of progressive business voices for climate, nature and clean energy transition related advocacy. This involves outreach to partners, coordination on tasks such as joint letters (e.g. the REPowerEU letter).
- Supporting the development of resources publications, briefings, presentation and toolkits
- Coordination of social media channels, and development of social media packages, together with other relevant teams.
- Coordination with colleagues on outreach activities such as newsletters.
- Organisation of meetings between businesses and EU policy makers.
- Supporting on the development of the groups.
- The role will support record keeping of our relationship management (CRM) to ensure effective stakeholder lists and strong relationship lists.
To note this is an atypical role for a University Project Manager - it is more focused on advocacy projects, outreach, administrative and events, projects coordination and engagement than academic research projects.
You will be someone who has:
- Strong experience in project management across several different projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects and events with overlapping deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrating a high proficiency in English. Additional European languages are desirable.
- Very good interpersonal skills ability to maintain relationships with business professionals and highlevel decision makers.
- Understanding of the EU policy sphere, engagement and advocacy with decision makers, and ideally European climate and sustainability policy
- Experience of managing project budgets
- Experience of event management, ideally including webinars and inperson meetings.
- Experience of digital communications (Twitter/LinkedIn etc.)
- Ability to work proactively toward project deliverables and deadlines.
- Competence across standard software packages including MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, plus ideally experience of working with a Client Relationship Management system.
- Commitment to the values that underpin CISL's work and a keen interest in social and environmental responsibility.
The team has an office in Brussels and we are currently working flexibly with the expectation that team members work in the office a few days a week.
The contract is a standard Belgian contract (i.e. 13 months 3⁄4). The salary range for this role is 3,700 - 4,600 (gross monthly).Applicants must have the right to work in Belgium and be based within a commutable distance to Brussels.
